How We Can Help

Are you experiencing health and safety risks at work?

Or maybe you are a family member concerned about the activity your loved one is being asked to do at work?

Whatever the concern, you are not alone, we can help.

What we do

We are working to prevent issues like:

  • excessive workloads;
  • silica dust;
  • asbestos;
  • welding fumes;
  • extremes of temperature;
  • prolonged standing;
  • and unguarded machinery...

...from turning into the heartache and pain of:

  • stress-related illness;
  • noise-induced hearing loss;
  • lung disease;
  • mesothelioma;
  • heart disease;
  • amputation, or loss of life.

If you’re looking for confidential support and advice you are in the right place.

Our ultimate aim is to reduce work-related injury, ill health and death through increasing your knowledge and awareness, improving health and safety practice and developing effective worker involvement.

We primarily advise those in non-trade-unionised workplaces and deliver the clear message that trade union workplaces are safer workplaces.

How We Can Help You

There are four main ways we can support you.

Advice Centre

We are here for you, we’ll provide you with free and confidential advice and support on what you can do next. We can also provide representation at health and safety-related disciplinary and grievance hearings. Call now on 0800 0015 022.

Training and networking

We deliver our annual conference, seminars and joint training for workers and their employers.

Campaigning

We campaign for safe and healthy workplaces seeking to make Scotland’s Fair Work agenda a reality, often working in partnership with trade unions and the STUC, and through our membership of the Partnership for Health And Safety in Scotland (PHASS). We are also developing joint work with Citizens Advice Bureaus. Contact us to find out how we can work together.

Legal advice

We can provide access to legal advice through Thompsons solicitors, a firm dedicated to seeking justice for individuals who have suffered as a result of a work-related incident or illness.

Who are we?

We are a registered charity governed by a passionate group of Trustees.
